It was a year ago in the summer of 2013, when a buddy of mine, knowing a bit about our burgeoning Resort Retreat Management business, Wind Rose Retreats (www.windroseretreats.com), suggested that Stratton Mountain, the largest resort here in southern Vermont, might be an ideal partner to host some of our mindfulness retreats.

His thought was based on the recent success Stratton (www.Stratton.com) has had in becoming known as a retreat center. A week later, the Stratton Wanderlust Yoga Festival happened - and I was sold.

The meetings with Stratton couldn't have gone better. They immediately saw how a Mindfulness Retreat Series in the Fall of 2014, with seven world-renowned mindfulness authors, teachers & retreat presenters, could enhance their work in becoming known as a major retreat center.

And, it's proving to be a dream come true for Wind Rose Retreats.

Now we're not Wanderlust, with 2,000+ people descending on the mountain for a special yoga weekend. Our retreats are small and intimate, usually with a maximum of 40 participants per retreat. But, with 7 consecutive extended weekends of retreats, this will the first resort-hosted mindfulness retreat series ever! And that's pretty cool in my book.

Now, if I could just figure out how to get a decent book agent to read more than 2 pages of Roper Cavanaugh's "The Rise & Fall of a Small Time Ivy League Hustler: Thoughts from Cell 214," oh, and agree to represent me, then life would really be grand.
